One of my mother’s favourite stories is about the time I disappeared at the age of three. After much panic and searching I was finally located a few kilometers from home, crossing a bridge on my push-bike. I’m not sure where I thought I was headed, but clearly from a young age I had a yearning to travel. I’ve always believed experiences are more valuable than material things, and I’ve spent a lot of my life indulging my love of adventure, and thrill for the unknown.

After graduating from the Anglo European College in England, I spent three years working in London before taking a year to hitch-hike through Africa and ending up in Cape Town. What was supposed to be a short sojourn in the Mother City turned into eight years, during which time I developed an interest in acupuncture and took a year’s sabbatical to study in China. In 2001 I returned to Scandinavia, this time to southern Sweden where I joined an old friend in opening Malmö Chiropractic Clinic. It was here that I married my South African girlfriend, Susan and over the next few years had two daughters, Sophie and Elisabeth.

At the London Olympics as part of the Swedish equestrian team

I’ve always had an interest in sport and sports-related injuries, and completed several courses in sports chiropractic. In 2006 a dream came true when I was contacted by the Swedish Olympic committee and asked to take care of the national equestrian team. I travelled throughout Europe and the US with them as they competed at major events, and treated the riders at the Beijing and London Olympics. It was a great honour to work with athletes of that caliber, and very affirming to see how chiropractic care helped them recover from injury and perform at their peak.

After eight years in Sweden, we decided to return to Cape Town. We bought a house in Green Point which lends itself perfectly to running a clinic, and I love the convenience of working from home and being close to the family. At present, I travel between Sweden and Cape Town, dividing my time between two clinics. I have 25 years’ experience as a chiropractor and acupuncturist, and my knowledge and understanding of neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions is extensive. I look forward to meeting you and helping you on the road to health and wellness. Welcome to Green Point Chiropractic Clinic.
