Research proves that Chiropractic has a significantly higher success rate in the treatment of sciatia, back, neck and shoulder pain, headaches and whiplash injuries than any other treatment method. Because doctors of chiropractic are educated in a very specific area of physiology, they are uniquely skilled to treat problems which have a neuro- and musculo-skeletal basis. Chiropractic is a drug-free and painless procedure which is fast, gentle, and non-invasive, combining very low risk with extremely high effectiveness. While many medical procedures treat the symptoms of disease, chiropractic focuses on the cause, and it is based on the premise that, given the right conditions, the body is able to heal itself.. With an optimally functioning spine and nervous system, not only are specific physical problems alleviated, but the body’s overall health and vitality are boosted and restored.
How does it work?
Chiropractic means ‘hands on’ and it is a natural healing method which uses gentle manipulation and other techniques to restore movement in ‘locked’ areas of the spine and joints. Nerves from the spinal cord travel through the body, relaying information and affecting every level of our functioning. If, due to injury, stress or disease, movement in the spinal joints becomes impeded, this can have a dramatic effect on the way the muscles and the nerves relate to one another. Chiropractors are trained to locate and remove interferences in the proper functioning of the nervous system, and the reduction in pain and discomfort is often instant. In addition to an adjustment, a chiropractor will use other techniques to restore normal movement to the joints, e.g. stretching, deep massage, trigger point therapy, ultrasound, laser, SOT and an activator.
